CRC Arlington Office Food Drive Helps to Feed Families in Need

In time for the 2017 holiday season, CRC Arlington office participated in a food drive to raise non-perishable items for Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC), a charity with a rich history in community outreach near our corporate headquarters.

Between November 2 and December 12, “The Hunger [IS NOT A] Games” food drive raised almost 300 items, including canned fruit, soups, tomatoes, tuna and vegetables, as well as breakfast cereals, peanut butter, and cooking oil for families in need during the holiday season.

Themed to play off of hit series The Hunger Games, CRC Arlington office employees participated in a friendly inter-department competition to see which department or “district” could donate the most non-perishable items. The Accounting department won with an impressive showing of 207 items.

AFAC feeds 2,200 families every week by providing supplemental groceries to Arlington residents who cannot afford to purchase sufficient food to meet basic needs. CRC’s competition benefitted their 2017 Holiday campaign, which provided 3,300 families with food for holiday meals.

Assisting Victims of Hurricane Harvey

Picture1.png

CRC CARES members from our CBG Building Company Dallas office wanted to help their fellow Texans after Houston’s historic flooding during Hurricane Harvey. By teaming up with subcontractors, project owners, architects, and consultants, the CBG Dallas team was able to fill a 33-foot box truck with over $20,000 worth of basic supplies in one business day. The truck then headed to some of the areas hardest hit by the storm to help those in need.
