2015 Charity Golf Tournament Recap

Over the past two days, CBG Building Company (CBG), CRC Companies (CRC), and Clark Construction teamed up to host the eleventh annual CRC CARES Foundation charity golf tournament.

Hosted at the Maderas Golf Club in San Diego, 228 golfers hit the links for a good cause. This year, over $303,000 was raised to benefit three organizations, with nearly 90 charities benefiting from tournament funds since the inaugural event in 2005.

Jim Forburger, senior vice president of CBG, has been part of the event since its inception and reflected after the event, “I am amazed at how this event has grown, which has allowed us to provide well-deserving charities the financial support to continue their mission…It is truly my favorite time of year.”

The winning team was presented with trophies.

This year’s tournament beneficiaries are all deserving and selfless local organizations:

  • Bridge of Hope is a non-profit dedicated to providing furniture, clothing, and food to underprivileged families facing crisis, such as domestic violence and homelessness.
  • Dreams for Change also battles homelessness in the San Diego community by providing families and individuals living in their cars a safe environment where they can rest, access resources, and work towards stabilization.
  • Homefront San Diego is an all-volunteer organization that provides a hand-up to military families in their time of need. Founded after September 11, 2001, the organization helps service member’s families at home so soldiers can focus on their missions without worrying about the wellbeing of their loved ones.

Highlights of the evening festivities included a raffle, announcement of tournament winners, and a formal donation presentation to Bridge of Hope, Homefront San Diego, and Dreams for Change.
